Vita — Privacy Policy

Vita is a personal AI assistant you talk to over Telegram, web chat, or the Vita iPhone app. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the control you have.

What we collect

• Your messages to Vita, and what you ask it to remember (tasks, reminders, decisions, people, notes, things you track).
• Account identifier for your channel (e.g. your Telegram chat id) so we can reply to you.
• iPhone account and delivery data — your guest session identifier or optional Apple sign-in identifier, linked device identifiers, push tokens, permissions, and device-reported execution receipts.
• If you enable Location & travel, requested foreground route lookups send your origin coordinates, location accuracy and observation time, selected destination, and device-reported Apple Maps estimates to your Vita account. These are available to your linked conversations. Vita does not continuously track location. You can turn the feature off and clear this iPhone's saved route evidence in its settings; text already included in conversations remains until those records or your account are deleted.
• Apple Calendar and Reminders — only after you connect them. Vita stores the state of items it manages. A connected calendar also sends busy event titles, times and locations for the next 90 days so Vita can check conflicts across your conversations.
• Uploaded documents — the original PDF or notes file and extracted page text, including text recognized on your iPhone, are saved for later retrieval until you delete them.
• Google Calendar data — only if you choose to connect it — to read your free/busy times and create/update events you ask for. You can disconnect anytime.

How we use it

Only to run the assistant for you: remember what you tell it, fire your reminders, and offer proactive help. We send your messages, uploads and relevant saved context to Together AI (for the MiniMax model that writes replies), OpenAI (for the model behind Vita's own background work: its follow-ups, checks and look-ups after a reply) and Google (for Gemini, search, images and memory processing). Audio sent to Vita can also be sent to OpenAI for transcription. Context can include content from Share and Shortcuts, and data from connections you enable, including calendar, Reminders and travel information. Enabled background processing can continue when the app is closed. The iPhone app asks for explicit AI data-sharing permission before sending the first AI message, separately from optional device permissions. Sign-in is optional; guest sessions still have identifiers so your conversation and saved items can be kept together. Provider processing is subject to their policies: Together AI, Google and OpenAI. We do not sell your data and do not use it to advertise to you.

Storage & security

Vita account data is stored on our Hetzner server. Connections to Vita and its AI providers use transport encryption. AI providers may process data in other countries. Connected Google tokens are encrypted at rest. Access is restricted to the operator for support and reliability.

Your rights

• See what we know — ask Vita "what do you know about me?".
• Correct or forget — tell Vita to change or forget something.
• Export your data, and delete your account and all data — say "delete my data" to Vita or use Settings → Account & data in the iPhone app, or contact carrywithvita@gmail.com. Documents can also be deleted individually from the document library. Disconnecting Apple stops future writes and leaves existing Apple items on your device. Disconnecting Google also revokes calendar access.
• Pause learning or proactive messages anytime ("pause learning", "stop nudges").

Retention

We keep account data while your account is active. Account deletion removes its records from Vita's active database and revokes its sessions. Recovery backups can retain earlier copies until those backups are removed; contact us about requests that include backup data. AI providers have their own retention policies. Disconnecting or signing out does not delete your account, its saved conversation or items already written to Apple or Google. Signing out of an iPhone does not pause an account you continue using on another channel.
